Santa Shuffle 2003 5km Run

It is very nice to see everyone get involved into the Christmas Spirit and help raise money for such a great cause. This even if the temperature outside is -10C. The Santa Shuffle is a fun race put on by the Salvation Army and the Running Room. participants, many of whom dress in festive seasonal costumes (we only had red tucs). We run a 5k course around Prince's Island (Hawrelak) Park. Jingle Bell for Arthritis 10km Run

2003 Annual Jingle Bell for Arthritis 10k Run. It was cold and with a chilly breeze (5C), but no ice on the roads and good condition for a race. It was funny to look all those people enjoying the festivities and wearing different costumes. (Lots os Santas and Reindeers) Some Stantec people participated (Ida Rowat, Elvira Vargas and Christine Funk). 10k races can be very challenging. You need to feel great and have a strategy to finish it. The weather was not bad. I had a light breakfast in the morning (cereal, milk and banana). I still need to work on my time! I guess it is another New Year Resolution. Location: Calgary. Date: Saturday, November 16th 2003

Introduction to the World of Running

Summer 2003. First, we decided to run for 30 minutes during our work lunch breaks. It was hard I will tell you. Our physical condition was poor and we struggled to run our almost daily 3k, but as we kept running I could really feel the improvements. We then decided to set a goal: To finish the Corporate Challange 10k race 2003! My friend Elvira and I decided to join the Running Room 10k Clinic. It was the best! It educated us on various subjects related to nutrition and proper shoe selection. People have different reasons to start to run. It can be fitness, weight loss, stress relief or just to have fun! Mine was really to keep fit and improve heart conditions. Because the best well-known weapon to fight diseases is constant exercise and balance diet. Exercise lowers boold pressure and cholesterol levels. Above, all I am happy to have had the opportunity to explore running. The people we met during the journey, the challenges, the stress relief and the join to finish are all a great adventure!

Introduction

My name is Luciana M Kuamoto. Today is my birthday. And I am finally starting my blogger. I wanted to try it a year ago. To tell you a little bit about me, I've always had an interest in construction and design and enjoyed observing interesting buildings and cities. I believed that construction would be an interesting and dynamic industry in which to work. When I was at school I was torn between becoming an architect or a civil engineer. From work I learned that the best aspects of the job are always having new problems and challenges to solve. At this time, I really would like to explore work that I can be passionate about.
