Robots Animation - Virgin Mobile Phones

I met Wanti in downtown for lunch. It was great to see her after such a long time. She seems to be doing great at CPR (Canadian Pacific Railway). Kerry and I miss the kids too. Wanti's birthday was on March 10, and I took her out for lunch. Happy Birthday Wanti dear friend! We love you!
Kerry and I went to see a movie in the theatre after a long day of work on Friday, March 11, 2005. We went to see Robots. The acclaimed director Chris Wedge, who created the Academy Award winning short film “Bunny” and the worldwide box-office smash ICE AGE™, now brings his innovative filmmaking magic to ROBOTS™, taking the computer generated animated film genre to an exciting new level. For the first time ever, an animated feature presents a totally imagined world – a wondrously clanky universe populated solely by mechanical beings. Ewan McGregor, Halle Berry, Greg Kinnear, Mel Brooks, Drew Carey, Jim Broadbent, Amanda Bynes, and Robin Williams voice the principal roles. In the film you’ll meet memorable bots Rodney Copperbottom (Ewan McGregor), a young genius inventor who dreams of helping robots everywhere; Cappy (Halle Berry), a beautiful, dynamic and savvy bot with whom Rodney is instantly smitten; the nefarious corporate tyrant Ratchet (Greg Kinnear) who locks horns with Rodney; Bigweld (Mel Brooks), a master inventor who has lost his way; and a group of misfit ‘bots known as the Rusties, led by Fender (Robin Williams) and Piper Pinwheeler (Amanda Bynes). Fender’s head, arms, and legs routinely fall off at the most inopportune moments. As Rodney fulfills Fender’s ongoing need for repairs, the two become fast friends. Piper is Fender’s tomboy kid sister, who surprises everyone with her determination and strength. The result is a timeless, comedic tale that pushes the boundaries of animation while introducing characters rich with physical humor and soul, and a heart-warming story that proves that a robot can shine no matter what he or she is made of.
Today, I also got my VIRGIN Mobile Phone. Sir Richard Branson and his team from
Virgin Mobile launched their phones and services in Canada on Tuesday. Sir Richard, in his usual flamboyant style, was dressed in a super hero outfit and drove a monster truck over three parked cars. He said he promises to "crush" his Canadian competitors.
Virgin, a UK company, has taken its cell phone business to the United States and Australia in recent years and has done quiet well with its focus on the 18 to 34 year old market. Virgin's aggressive and edgy marketing style are just the touch that may move their target audience away from the more sober TELUS, Bell, and Rogers. Virgin will focus on prepaid services to Canadians. Customers will have to buy a Virgin handset, then pay 25¢ per minute for the first five minutes each day, and 15¢ per minute for the rest of the day. I have mine and I love it!

Nellie's Cosmic Cafe Breakfast - Unique Calgary Experience

February 06, 2005 (Sunday) - We had a delicious brunch at Nellie's Breakfast. The food is good; the staff are great; and the ambiance exactly what I need on weekend mornings. When the weekends come our mouths just water for a brunch at Nellie's. First time I was there was with Elvira, who introduced me to the Hype Calgary Brunch Place. If you want a good breakfast just go to Nellie's!
After breakfast, we went to search/shopping for snowboard and ski equipment. Kerry bought me a pair of ski boots at Ski West. They have 40% sales and coincidently they had a mismatched pair of boots (one 24 and another 24.5), which fits me perfectly. Great chance and good price.

Lake Louise Ski Resort - Skiing Trip

March 05, 2005 (Saturday) - Kerry and I met Jennifer (Jen) and her husband Doug at 7:00AM at Planet Beach Tanning Salon in Valley Ridge. This would give us 2 hours to get to the hill and half an hour to do rentals. Lifts open at 9:00AM. Great morning and great day! We met Matthew at the Rental place. Kerry decided to take snowboard lessons and stay at the Bunny Hill for the morning. Jennifer, Doug, Matthew and I took the new Gondola all the way to the top. I followed the three around. Oh! They are such good skiers/snowboarders! I had a blast! Jen did snowboard and Doug/Matthew/me were the skiers. I just love to ski. We did diffrent trails:
1. Green Trails were: Larch Side (Marmot and Pika)
2. Blue Trails were: Larch Side (Larch and Wolverine), Frontside/Southface (Wapta, Junniper)
My ski was a 161, but I switched to a 150 in the afternoon as Matthew recommended. It was much better! We then had lunch at the Main Lodge at Noon, and went back to ski until 4:00PM.
We met Elvira and Cherrilyn around 3:30PM. They decided to stay and we decided to head back to Calgary as we were exhausted. But before we stopped in Canmore for a good supper. We had supper at a place called the Bolo. I had Mariachi Chicken and it was a lime marinade chicken on a bun. Delicious! Great day, great company, great food!@ All great combinations!
