EMS Ambulance Chasers 10km Run

I participated for the 1st time on the EMS Ambulance chasers 10k race. Elvira run for Kerry, because he was not ready for that race. As for me, I was pretty excited to run that night. It was a little bit chilly, but overall an excellent condition for a run. Not too hot, not too cold. Unfortunately I realize that I best run during the day, not at night. My time was not great (1:00:09). This run supports the EMS (Emergency Services Foundation), and is a fun event for a worthwhile cause. The Foundation supports out of Hospitals programs that serve to reduce injury and illnesses. Some examples are: Automatic External Defibrillators and the Childooh Injury Prevention Program. Date: Friday, October 15ht 2004. Time: 7:00PM

Calgary Humane Society 5km Run

The Calgary Humane Society for prevention of cruelty to Animals had their 1st 5km or 10km run. The Calgary Humane Society receive over 9,000 animals/year. 5,500 animals were adopted from their shelters and remote locations. Around 1,500 cruelty and neglect complints were investigated. We did the 5km because we weren't ready for the 10km. The distances fabled 'Blood and Guts' hill, but it was not that bad! It was a cold, rainny and soggy day. It was Kerry's official first race and first race race with me. Our clothes got cold and wet because of the rain. We were suppose to do a 5km run, but I ended up doing more like 8km. I was on the go! Location: Bowness Park NW. Date: Sunday, August 22, 2004.

St. Patrick's Day 10km Road Race

The St. Patrick Day 10k Road Race 2004 in support of the Canadian Diabetes Association. Another race, but a different course around the University of Calgary, near McMahon Stadium. Start/Finish located at the Red & White Club, McMahonStadium. Post race celebrations at the same club. The remarkables of this race were: the Celtic long sleeve T-shirt and the interesting taste of an irish Stew post- race. Not a great time (1:02:00). Date: March 14th 2004 Time: 10:00AM
